Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Aug 02, 2009 8:35 pm Hi there I am currently wanting to repair a decrepid fire screen that i have got may hands on. They are very hard to find - decent ones. The device is made of a 5mm diameter steel rod frame covered in a wire mesh screen (think flyscreen gauge). The wire mesh needs to get replaced as it rusted torn and missing patches. The mesh is fixed to the frame by being wrapped around the side of the frame and then doubled back or folded back on itself by about a 1 inch and then secured with what appears to be glue. My question is where to obtain the replacement mesh (do bunnings do this kind of thing?) and what glue or techniqe would be most appropriate for securing the wire mesh back on itself where it wraps around the frame. hope this makes sense. thanks muchly.
