We just moved into a house and the metal gate at the front seems to have slid down it's hinges a bit meaning that it won't bolt shut. You basically need to lift the gate with 1 hand and bolt the gate with the other. Here are some photos. Is the bottom hinge set up different? Or does it look like there might have been a pin right at the bottom to keep it to height Re: Gate sliding down hinge 4Feb 04, 2015 7:41 pm Or, lift the gate to the height it needs to be, drill a hole into the gate frame just below the hinge and put some sort of pin in to stop it dropping. Or weld a tab on to stop it dropping (what ever you are handier with) My door tends to rub against the frame during winter and I'm looking to fix it so it closes smoothly.
