Who dropped this?

Last few days I was watching our cabbage leaves are disappearing from the garden bed. Today, a purple colour cabbage plant has been completely trimmed to a stem. Apparently the night thief has made a hole in raised net covering the raised vegi patch where we have our brassicas.

Anyone got an idea who the culprit would be? I am guessing its possum if not rat (hope its not rat!). See the dropping pic attached.
