Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 May 18, 2020 2:15 am Help! The height from our deck to the bottom of the front beam is much lower than we expected (1.99m). I'm hoping someone can suggest solutions to how we can overcome it. So far: - we will be joining the two joist levels. (reasons it was installed like that because we realized after the deck structural was installed that it was not designed for the decking material to go horizontally to the house). - we will be using insulated roof (our previous choice of material could not span that far, hence why there are rafters). - New height from deck to bottom of the front beam will be 2.23m. - New height from deck to ceiling will be 2.42m. 1) Is 2.42m too low for a pergola? Would it feel too claustrophobic? 2) Would you be able to suggest any other ways we could achieve a higher roof? 3) is there any way I can attach the insulated roof to the existing roof (aluminum) at the same height? I'm spoke to the builder I'm not sure if this is all true but basically went along the lines of they considered all options and if I was to compact and fill it… 2 7314 Not sure if that works? I was told the issue is the headspace clearance requirement on step 4. My builder is proposing shifting the beam 310mm towards the kitchen...I'm… 2 2629 4 6201 |
