Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Jan 02, 2020 4:13 am Hello, My partner and I are currently building a home with a project build company and have noticed that there are some differences in the plans that we signed off and our house fascade and what has been built. These are: - First floor window- contract 180x 180, reality- 180 x 120 - Alfresco area steel beam- contract- open alfresco roofing in line with the rest of the house roofline ( no steel beam), reality- steel beam and unsightly beam box closing in alfresco area on long side, short side box to match the beam side. I was wondering if there is anything we can do about these changes? My main concern is the Alfresco beam, I understand it is here to stay but the way in which it has been covered over hasn’t been discussed with us and is a significant difference to the plan we signed (and aesthetically doesn’t look very good) . Thanks so much for your help. Re: Building Contact Changes- Builder Variations 2Jan 02, 2020 7:37 am This is an easy one. Raise this with the supervisor, if no luck raise it with the manager, if no luck raise it with the director or builder directly. If its on the plans 'Clearly' then you should be delivered that product. Sounds like a massive job to rectify but thay is simply the builders fault for not building to design. In some circumstances the plans are vague so it could be hard to argue. If they are not well you need to be firm with what you should be getting. Don't move and dont pay. Ensure you understand your contract. If you need any further help PM me. MC Registered Building - Always happy to help where I can and simply loves the game. DM me if you need help in VIC. Fair Trading can issue orders to rectify and complete but once the matter goes to NCAT these orders are automatically vacated. You will have to terminate contract and sue… 21 29758 We are at the stage on our build in Kilcoy, Queensland where we need to get our fencing installed but we cant get any contact details for our neighbours to give them… 0 6172 It seems very clear to me that your contract states that a security account does NOT need to be established so the answer to the builder is NO. If in doubt find a contract… 1 8511 |
