Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Nov 20, 2019 8:09 am Hi All, My deck is due for an oil and I'm unsure what to do about preparing it given the current water restrictions. To date I have used Cutek products, so Proclean for cleaning followed by their oil with a tint added. Two thirds of the deck is undercover whilst one third is exposed. We have a a few gum trees so leaves and sticks constantly fall on the exposed deck meaning it needs a good clean before oiling. Now that we have level 1 water restrictions in Sydney I am unable to gurney hard surfaces which means I can't use Proclean. The folks at Cutek recommended giving it a light sand but a) it's a huge deck; and b) even if I hired a sander not all boards are completely flat anyway. Apart from that, I can't be bothered. Does anyone know of other methods of cleaning a a deck thoroughly before oiling that doesn't require a hose/gurney to remove the cleaner? Thanks, BH DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Thanks.
