Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Oct 03, 2019 7:38 am Unsure if my previous post worked.. Building a lean to off my shed and have a few concerns. Fascia is 180x30 anchored to the shed and tied down into each pillar / concrete filled. Joists are 90x35 with 600mm spacing. Concerns are the ammount of joists hangers and the use of pryda 12g 35mm connector screws. The job is not finished, any advice would be great. The idea for joist hangars was so i can have a ceiling and the roof will use staggered metal hats for fall. If you have, it is way under specced and you are going to have huge problems. It's simply doesn't meet code. Did you consult timber span and roofing codes? What is the distance from the top to the bottom? It looks like it's over 4 metres. Maybe I'm missing something but I think you may be in trouble if you proceed. I'd swear from the picture it already looks like it is sagging in the middle just holding its own weight. Any structure like your building needs council approval which will guarantee that the structural (and planning) side of the build is correct. It may seem like a pain but in the long run it's best. Good on you for pulling it down and progressing correctly. You were going to run into some serious issues if you went forward.
