Our friends had aluminium screening installed on the back and side of their new pergola by the same company that did ours but it was quite expensive (around $3K). What would be a cheaper alternative? I was considering putting planter boxes along the edges of the parts that are high but worried it might look a bit funny with too many. A fence would be too exxy and the decks done now so dont want to bother with a step being added. What do you suggest?
