I’m looking to find out what other people paid for a professionally built deck and how many square metres your deck is!
My husband and I have recently bought a house that we won’t move into for another 6 months (so we can’t get any official quotes on deck costs yet!)
We’re wanting to build a raised deck that is approximately 28sqm (7m x 3m) with a simple roof/cover. We have budgeted $10,000, however we have no idea if that’s too much or nowhere near enough! We’re in the Western Sydney, NSW, region.

Alot of variables to consider in your request. How high is it being built off the ground?. Do you need approval? What do you want it made out of? What do you want it to be roofed with?
Short of your site have some pretty unique issues a builder needs to contend with you should be able to get some quotes easily over the phone. You could even price it up yourself pretty well if you (materials costs i mean) if you look at the span tables and know the materials youll need.

I would be interested to see if you have received additional quotes. im northern beaches and budget about $30K. I have had one written quote $10k labour only, and one all inclusive price $51K
My dad is a builder and he is going to come from NZ and build it.

We just had eko-deck decking professionally installed (composite decking which is part plastic/part wood that is very low maintenance compared to timber decking). Ours measures 6.7m x 4.025m so about 27sqm and we were quoted $13,200. This also included removing and taking away old brick paving. This is the end result. We also had an insulated roof installed which was a bit exxy but it keeps it cooler in the summer months.

OK, or what it’s worth my decking boards are attached to my steel frame using self-tapping screws, but with square driver holes. I suggest that longer self-tapping…
