After spending Friday morning painting a t-shirt with DS (for fathers day) I have just noticed a couple of paint stains on the decking. ( Yes I am naughty and should have put something down! We were working on the table though and had a cover on that.) So it is fabric paint, I threw out the packaging d'oh, on the bottle it just says 'non-toxic'. Not sure what the decking is made of but could find out if it helps. The stains are only a couple of days old. Any ideas for removing them? thanks in advance Re: Getting paint stains out of decking 4Sep 08, 2008 5:04 pm If you've got a stain on it, it may do. It also depends on how long since you stained the deck, how long since you finished oiling it etc.
You could always try getting at it with a wide mouthed chisel if they the paint marks are big "splotches". Re: Getting paint stains out of decking 5Sep 08, 2008 5:17 pm thanks Art. It's sounding like a big job for someone that's never sanded, stained, oiled or chiseled before!!!
Might have to just own uo to my boo boo and get my dad to help fix it (it's my parents' deck............... ) Re: Getting paint stains out of decking 6Sep 08, 2008 6:16 pm use oxcylic acid or commonly called deck clean and follow directions to the letter Da Vinci Outdoor Living Architectural landscaping http://www.davincioutdoor.com Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil.
