Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Sep 02, 2008 8:09 pm Hey, just wondering what do u think i should put over my concrete flooring on my alfresco, Pavers or tiles? what would be cheaper and more practical? im really not sure what way to goo. i was thinkin about contineing time tiles from inside to the alfresco..
i would love decking but i think it would be way out of my budget.. still have some time to think my house its just starting lol Re: Tiles OR Pavers for the Alfresco!! 2Sep 02, 2008 8:13 pm Hi Anthony,
If you have tiles inside, extending the tiles outside is a wonderful idea as it links the two areas and visually makes the areas seem more connected. Have you selected your tiles yet? A lot of tiles have an outside one to compliment the indoor one. Just more textured. I like the idea of tiles in the alfresco for ease of cleaning and no staining. But apart from that, exactly the same. Some tiles have an outdoor version, but some tiles are actually suitable for indoor and outdoor use. If you go to the tile supplier for your builder, they'll tell you what they've got. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Tiles v pavers v decking..... Tough one but a few suggestions. Lookat the total price, inlcuding labour and materials, Decking might not be that expensive, by the tme you add grout, adhesives, cutting and tile costs. What size area are you talking? Agree with continuing the flow from in the house to outside, just bec areful that it 'it isnt too much'. Sounds dumb but I have seen some places where a change in color or materials would have saved the house from looking like an Ikea shop. Got some photos of a display house? Perhaps Davinci can give you a very rough idea of material costs. Adrian B thanks. the above one is white Mat tiles and have gripness so going for this Mat tiles for both indoor and outdoor. Beaumont told it can be used in both indoor and… 2 1665 Appreciate that Chippy. I won’t do sand under pavers and will connect all up under pavers, however I was going to do: 1) Roadbase compacted with manual hand tamper 2)… 10 18563 |
