Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Nov 26, 2017 11:47 pm I am trying to put in a fence at the side of the house. There is a retaining wall dropping down from my place to the neighbours. The fence has to be based on my land (higher up) for privacy. There is not really room to put posts in the ground as it would be a squeeze to walk down the side of the house and the posts would be right behind the top edge of the retaining wall which would not be very secure.(they could work their way loose i think). The solution i have come up with is to use the 2 palm trees as fence posts. I am trying to secure the fence structure to the palm trees in a way that will not damage the palm trees and will be secure. Here are the photos with temporary ropes to hold the fence frame to the palm trees. https://imgur.com/gallery/WjtOI I was going to use metal wire hoops for safety and rope to hold the frame tight. Would have to replace the ropes once a year maybe unless there is some kind of rope that is durable in the sun/rain etc.. Is there any other clever way to secure the fence frame to the 2 trees so that it is 1. safe 2. tight (not wobbly) 3. not damaging to the trees ?
