I made a big mistake (the biggest so far, as we are a week away from PCI) and bought jarrah decking timber from an auction. I allowed for 40% wastage (10-20% is recommended) but ended up getting about 20% usage from the entire pack for a 70sqm deck. Hence, I have around 600sqm of short length, blemished jarrah boards. I am looking for ideas from you bright sparks to use them eg. for building a cubby house, cladding a vege patch Love the site and forum Thanks Re: Excess decking timber - short lengths - any ideas????? 2Aug 24, 2008 6:11 pm Build planter boxes for the deck & line the outside with vertically laid offcuts of Jarrah.
Same arrangement for a box with a padded vynil top - something to chuck shoes into, that doubles as an additional useful seat when vistors are on the deck. PM me your email. I have a build excavation calculator you can use based on your plans to double check what your builder is telling you. Cheers Simeon 1 10242 Hi, as per the subject. Does anyone have any recommendations for the best value decking oil (Bunning is close to where I live) for a treated pine deck? Thanks 0 10971 |
