Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Aug 20, 2008 4:34 pm I have fallen in love with this relatively small, sort of sitting upright square/round hammock (rather than the elongated, traditional long type ****** down hammock) from Freedom Furniture, and it's only $150, and I want to hang it on the ceiling of my new balcony, but I'm concerned the roof/building structure won't support the weight and the holes/screws/hooks, etc.
Is this a fairly normal/easy thing to do?? Or is it really only suited to houses and stuff? Thanks! How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: Freedom Furniture hammock from balcony roof? 2Aug 20, 2008 4:48 pm I know the one you mean and the bolts or screws they supply are for screwing into masonery so I would say you have to somehow cantilever
(I think thats the right terminology) it from your wall, maybe with bracket to suit. Keep in mind if you buy it and take it to a hardware to find out and its not suitable they have 7 day refund policy. Re: Freedom Furniture hammock from balcony roof? 3Aug 20, 2008 5:24 pm Hmm...ok...
Well, I have written to the body corp asking if they'd be ok with it IF I got a builder person to inspect and make sure however it could be secured would be structurally sound, but they haven't replied to me yet. (I think they may think I'm a bit weird. lol) How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: Freedom Furniture hammock from balcony roof? 5Aug 20, 2008 8:46 pm No, sorry!!! It doesn't appear to be in the catalogue I got. How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! My brain periodically falls out, that's all!
Um...let me see...nope. Dammit. There's one pic of the patio area but it doesn't show the ceiling/roof bit at all. Oh well. How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing!
