Hi Everyone,
I am currently in the market for a verandah for my slightly newish home in the western surburbs of Melbourne. After several quotes, I manage to obtain one that is attractively price for $3,500 including installation for 7.73m x 2.25m colourbond steel verandah from Mr X.
For a verandah, I do know that a permit is required from the local council. My question here is that upon inquiring about the permit from Mr.X, his opinion is that one is not required at all. Mr.X stated that if the verandah is built according to council specifications and short of the neighbour complaining to the council, all that you need is to wait for 5 years and this requirement of permit ceases to exist.
Is there any truth to this matter or just pure fiction? Appealing to the wisdom of all homeoners
