Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Nov 02, 2015 9:53 am Hello Everyone, This is my first post and Im brand new in here. We've just given a deposit for a Carlisle Home Design - Waverly 24. They offered us a Front landscape (including letter box approx $3220) and Drive path ($3611). I just wanted to know, is this reasonable price to proceed with , or is this a rip off? Please let me know. Thank you Kind Regards Rose Re: Front landscape and Drivepath quote 2Nov 02, 2015 6:52 pm Hi Rose, It would really depend what is included in the landscape package and what material the driveway will be. To give you an idea, I've got an external quote for extending retic to the rear, providing provisions for a 25m garden bed and laying 75m2 of palmetto turf all for $2500. I know exposed aggregate is in the vicinity of $90 - $100 per m2 if organising yourself and far less if it were just pavers for example. I'm sure you could save some money bypassing the builder and getting external quotes instead but you'll have to weigh up if its worth doing this stuff after handover, or if you would rather have the builder do everything for you. Hope this helps My build with FHBD viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78344 Re: Front landscape and Drivepath quote 3Nov 03, 2015 1:21 pm Daz_ Hi Rose, It would really depend what is included in the landscape package and what material the driveway will be. I would go with just the driveway and path at this stage.Front landscape with few plants, letter box, drip irrigation centre - all for $3200. And driveway & path - exposed aggregate - twilight- for $3600!! What are ur thoughts?? Thank u in advance Re: Front landscape and Drivepath quote 4Nov 03, 2015 6:38 pm I think thats a pretty fair price for the driveway and path (assuming its around 6m x 6m plus a path?) so you're probably best going with the builder on that one As for the landscaping, it does seem a little steep. If it were me, I would email a couple of places for a quote with the plans and description of the works to be done and see if it going to be financially worthwhile. The quote would probably have to be around 2k - 2.5k for me to consider it, as it is more of a nuisance for you. Let me get back to you inregards to that. Thanks very much! And would the landscaper/contractor generally involve the engineer or is that something the client would do?
