It is currently raw, half has been in the shade and the other half in full sun (North East facing) and had been down for 2-2.5 months and just about to coat it and only one board has a small crack. You will save bugger all money and have a far inferior product compared to spotted gum in terms of durability and aesthetics. ![]() Merbau looks nice but unfortunately it's not a sustainable timber. Yup, very true. Use spotted gum. Better for the environment and Aust jobs too. I didn't know how bad logging Merbau was until I did my research, ended up using spotted gum.
