No easy way around a question like that. I'd also put a few beers in the fridge to "rehydrate " yourself afterwards. Stewie Re: Digging a hole in tree stump? 3Nov 09, 2014 10:26 am Thanks for the reply Stewie but that was not what I was hoping to hear. Ive just been trying to dig near the tree on the left and making no headway with the root system. Could I hire something that will dig a hole through the roots? Re: Digging a hole in tree stump? 4Nov 09, 2014 11:30 am I have had to dig out a few trees that were much smaller than the one you have. It is back breaking work. Have you already cut the tree down...one would hope so! You should get a stump grinder in to remove the stump below ground level and then soak the ground before tackling the roots. If you leave the stump, it will continue to feed from the root system. It is much easier to remove roots when there is no stump but it is still hard work. 3in1 Supadiverta. Re: Digging a hole in tree stump? 5Nov 09, 2014 11:43 am Thanks SaveH2O, sounds like a bridge to far. We have one other spot to put it but one of the legs would have to go in a cement base. Im guessing it was the base of an old garden shed. Could we hire something to drill a hole in the cement and cement the leg in? Re: Digging a hole in tree stump? 6Nov 09, 2014 12:12 pm Dunno. That would require a large heavy duty masonry drill. Maybe visit Kennards and ask about hiring a concrete saw to cut a square or triangular hole if you are comfortable with doing that. 3in1 Supadiverta.
