Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Nov 01, 2014 1:44 am My family are now moving to our new house We have a beautiful big garden. I was dreaming of having such a garden for a long time. I am thinking of buying battery powerd tools for my garden. Those tools aren‘t really cheap. I would like to ask someone before buying it. Which tools would you highly recommend to buy or „must have“ in your garden? Is that worth to invest your money in those tools? And are battery powered tools better than electric tools? Re: new tools new toys 2Nov 01, 2014 10:24 am How big is your yard ? Check out the Ryobi One+ 18v system, as they have a lot of garden tools that use that system now, and you then get the bonus of the same battery system goes with their garage/home handyman tool range. Whilst Ryobi is not the top of the range tradie tools, they are far from the bottom level throwaway tools, and are quite reliable. Unfortunately Ryobi is only available from Bunnings, so there is no price competition from other retailers. Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld. Re: new tools new toys 4Nov 05, 2014 10:55 am potatoka Thank you bpratt! we have about a 3000 square foot garden, Are you using Ryobi tools too? and which one do you have at home? I'm using a stack of Ryobi 18v tools, but none of the truly gardening ones, other than the reciprocating saw, which has seen plenty of tree pruning jobs around the place. Latest one I bought was the 16guage C brad nailer, but I've also got from the range the drill/driver, sander, impact/rattle gun, jigsaw, 6 battery charge unit, and several batteries. As we're on 4661sq m block, petrol brushcutter makes more sense as we already have one, but when we get the garden going hedge trimmers and similar will probably be the Ryobi ones as I already have the batteries to suit them. But in your case not only would a Ryobi system be quieter to operate, but no doubt a whole lot more convenient for you. Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld. Re: new tools new toys 6Dec 04, 2014 10:21 pm It easier to buy one system, and stick with it as the batteries are interchangeable. I'm using Bosch cordless, including lawn mower (only one that isn't, as it uses 36V, but fits their 36V power tools), but do use a Honda brushcutter (we are next to a reserve, and blackberries and woody weeds are a problem). No, I even have sections of narrowness where the tiles won't slide up any further.
