What are everyone's thoughts on a stain to put on them? I heard a few years ago that diesel sump oil is one way to do it. I also heard that the oil can stink a fair bit too.....that will probably make the neighbours cry. Can't upset them, they are making our peaceful little home a living hell....anyhow, what can I paint/stain them with? Brought pine out really well. Friends always asked what the wood was - couldn't believe it was pine. BUT - NO colour/stain in oil - look for the "clear" one. It really makes it look good - imo ...
