Hi guys, I'm new here so I hope this is the right section and that formatting is okay.
My new house has a a set of approx 6 steps leading from the house to the backyard. Because the property has been subdivided, the steps lead straight into a corner of the yard rather than pointing toward the usable area of the yard. I've attached a diagram which hopefully makes this clearer, the stairs are shown in grey.
My question is about what the best option would be to alter the steps to face into the back yard.
Should we rip out the steps completely and put in new concrete or timber steps? Or maybe just cut the steps off on the side and put new steps in? I'm sure there are many other options as well, it would be great to hear from someone who is experienced in this area.
Some things I also need to consider would be cost, timeframe, and whether any of the steps would be something we could DIY or if we need to hire tradies to do the work.
Appreciate any advice or opinions. Thanks!
