Need a pergola soon

Hi,

I live in Epping Victoria and I need a pergola before end of this year. I only need to get a pergola to cover about a 45sqm area as the floor is already done. I tried 'Install a verandah' and they quoted me $9000 for 20sqms. And I went to local Stratco store and got a quotation for a DIY kit and it was $7000 for 45sqms. I'm not sure whether I can do it by myself so I'm looking for a builder in this area who can do this for a much competitive price. Does anyone know about a good builder who can help me? Any advice is warmly welcome. Thanks!

I got a 12 by 4 meter Stratco pergola for around 5000 after some haggling. What r the dimensions of yours. If it is less than 4.6 meters deep then a similar price should be achievable. That is as long as it's a flat roof and mine was attached to the house on the long side. If yours is totally freestanding then it will cost more.

It may be a bit on the high side, but does depend what options you select and complexity of build. Did you ask them for their 'best' price (i.e. they just knock off 10-15% if you get a good sales person - if the design is simple)

We got quoted close to 10k for a gable pergola around 40sqm (attached, ~2.5 x ~15). Changed it to flat and it went down to $5k. These prices where the 'best' price and a simple attached design.

I will mention we are still building our house, so will need to re quote and order when we have the $$.
