Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Aug 16, 2013 4:14 pm Hi In heavy rain I have been experiencing the rain coming inside the lounge. I think this is due to the pergola outside and the rain is running back into the eaves of the house. I have tried to put a flashing across to try and deflect the rain back but alas, after the rain this time its still coming back into the house. Any solutions besides ripping out the pergola? Can you re post? What area are you in? The information is needed for hydraulic calculations. It is always best to post your area. EDIT: It seems that I can't see the images when I'm logged in. I can see them otherwise. 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using syphonic drainage. Cleaner Neater Smarter Cheaper Supa Gutter Pumper. Re: Pergola & flooding inside 3Aug 17, 2013 2:00 am The fifth photo shows a lot of water draining straight through the eave lining and it's inline with the bucket on the floor. When the pergola was done, was the guttering altered in any way? Have you checked the tiles for breakage? Were people on the roof when the pergola was done? I really need to see a couple of photos of the top of the gutter and fascia with 3-4 tiles pulled back for clarity. How heavy does the rain have to be for it to happen? 3in1 Supadiverta. Re: Pergola & flooding inside 4Aug 30, 2013 4:53 pm I had the same problem. Poor flashing and planning. Had to get it replaced, although you might be able to get a drainer out to take a look. You need to calculate the amount of water per minute during a storm to determine the appropriate solution. Until you find the cause of the flooding you need to take action to mitigate potential damage to your home.
