Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Apr 17, 2013 12:43 pm Hi there! We've recently added an extension on to our house that includes open plan living: kitchen, lounge, dining and deck. So if you imagine a square on the plans, in the bottom right corner is the galley kitchen, to the left of that is the dining room in front of that is the deck and next to that and in front of the kitchen is the lounge room...glass stacker doors meet in an L shape off the dining and lounge room on to the deck. As clear as mud i'm sure We're having dark floating floors throughout the house, we are think the dark oiled grey from carpet court http://www.carpetcourt.com.au/products/Laminate/Classic with either white or light grey walls... Our issue is what colour timber do we use for the deck?! Should I just go treated pine and paint it? We cant use tiles or concrete as it is raised/off the ground and all of the hardwoods are either really light or really dark and throw red! Do you think if I painted the treated pine a light grey colour that would work? Totally stumped at the moment! Would appreciate any advise Thank you in advance!! Re: Painting a treated pine deck 2May 25, 2013 10:42 am We used a quality clear oil on our treated pine. Over time it still darkens it - but it looks 100% over non-oiled pine. It goes a sort of golden colour and does darken over time. But many friends have asked and can't believe its just treated pine. DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Are you going to have the frame exposed or are you cladding it with something. Usually if you are making an exposed frame you would use solid legs around 100x100 or… 3 6592 Iām just in the process of replacing 2 stud walls that have been severely damaged by termites and am planning to use h2 blue pine. I just wanted to if anyone can advise… 0 52859 Hi, as per the subject. Does anyone have any recommendations for the best value decking oil (Bunning is close to where I live) for a treated pine deck?
