Re: Composite Decking 2Mar 25, 2013 9:40 am A friend of mine installed a couple of square metres of Modwood four years back and to install was just as easy as timber. The little side clips were a bit fiddly but you don't end up seeing any nail holes - a plus in my book and there is zero maintenane with this product apart from the odd hosing down and sweep with a broom. After two years though it has faded a bit ( faces due north so sun all day long ) and to me it looks just too plasticky. I understand that the composition of this has since been improved a lot in the meantime. Timber decking put down in this same place would have faded a lot more and requires a lot more maintenance. I've heard of some of the other artificial decking materials but have no experience with them. Stewie Hi, as per the subject. Does anyone have any recommendations for the best value decking oil (Bunning is close to where I live) for a treated pine deck? Thanks 0 1290 Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil. It will look 10 years younger and add value to your home.
