Hi, I'm hoping there might be a tiler or two out there who can offer advice, as my handyman partner decided to tile our 14m2 verandah/patio area, and while he has basically done a good job, he has run into problems with finishing it off. He laid the tiles using the house wall as the starting point, but the raised concrete verandah is not square, and so we are left with a tapering gap at the edge of the concrete, at one end of the verandah is it less than 1mm, and at the other it is around 20mm. I dont think we can use cut tiles as this will just accentuate the sloping edge, is there any aluminium strip that we could use to cover the whole edge along the length of the verandah, and if so would it look strange? Any suggestions of solutions would be most appreciated. It would mean a slight lift in the level - so a potential "trip" I guess. We accidentally burnt the top of our kitchen bench one time. Instead of replacing the whole top we just cut a rectangle around the burn - put in a non-clear thick glass piece - surrounded by metal frame - held down by clamps under the bench - and used it as a chopping board. Everyone says what a great idea - not knowing it was caused by the burn ... So the wooden frame may turn out to be the thing that sets off the patio ...
