Hi there,
We have recently purchased a Beefeater outdoor rangehood to be installed on our alfresco above the BBQ and we would like it ducted externally through the roof.
We are building and have the opportunity to have the ducting for this rangehood installed now if we purchase the flue kit and give it to the builders.
I asked them what I would need and they suggested the universal Abey vertical flue kit for steel roof (125mm diameter tubing). However they said to just check the installation manual to see if it would fit (this is where I started to stress as I know NOTHING about this kind of thing!) hehe
Anyway I checked the installation manual and it says to use 2 x 150mm piping or use 200mm piping along with the included piece that converts it more narrow at one end. I have tried to get a flue kit that is 200mm and I just can't find one. I found an Abey 150mm flue kit (on special order) but I don't quite understand why the manual said it needed '2 x 150mm'. Do I need to buy 2 kits??? Why would I need 2???
I took the installation manual up to the plumbers on site today and they had never used anything but the 125mm and weren't quite sure what to say. They they said to just buy the 125mm universal kit and they would duct tape it all together to make it all fit, as it wouldn't matter as it wasn't really hot air going up through there anyway.
I am very concerned as to what to do, as I don't feel overly confident with the plumber's advice, and I am not sure what else to do (as they will be installing it, I just have to buy the ducting things (whatever they happen to be!!!)
So if someone has installed the beefeater outdoor rangehood, could you please please let me know what flue kit, or size of pipe you used???
Many thanks in advance.
