Where to buy dovecote in Australia?
We have an English country style garden in which a dovecote would be a nice addition.
Can anyone help with where to buy one? I've looked online and there doesn't seem to be much available.
We're in Adelaide if there is a store that sells them.
Wanting something that looks like this:

And no, we don't plan to keep doves!
Thanks in advance.
Stay tuned...

I'm about 99.9% sure this is them:

Looking for a pic of Mums, now...
They're not exactly cheap... but do appear to be great quality.
I wonder how difficult they are to make?

My Mum has one from a guy that builds them and sells to markets in Melbourne. I'll have a dig around for the website and see if I can find some pics of it.

HI Stormy
I was just looking for some pics of dovecotes - and came across your thread & that your mum has one. What I am interested in is some ideas of how to landscape the back / side yard using one - as my mother-in-law has one and is giving it to me as a house warming present
I am trying to get my head around how to position - so I was wondering how your mum did hers? If you have any more pics of her landscaping around her gorgeous dovecote ... I would really appreciate it
Cheers Sandy
My Mum's dovecote is down on her property by the beach, not in a suburban block, so there is quite a bit of foliage around it with a backdrop of the sea. The house is on a side of the hill overlooking the sea, and the dovecote is down the bottom side of the property next to the fence at the end of a row of stairs down the hill. I probably do have some more pics tucked away, but I've got to go to work now, so I'll have to look later.
The main thing to remember is it will be a focal point. So whether you see it from the house or in the garden somewhere it really should be treated as such. I tend to like a bit of symmetry in the garden, so whether you have it at the end of a path, or next to the fence but can be seen as the main focal point out a window. Or even as a stand alone piece in the middle of a square garden with box hedge all around. It will depend entirely what your style of garden is/will be as to where you position it and with what around
I'll get back to you a bit later if I can find some more pics. Shame I didn't see this earlier, as I was there over the weekend and could have taken some more for you!

Stormy - Thank you so much for taking the time to reply
We have just gone to Council - so ages away yet - any time you have to take a pic - I will appreciate the ideas. Yes I do want it to be a focal point, but will wait til we are in and see were it will have the most impact
Cheers
Sandy
