Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Oct 01, 2012 12:46 pm Hi Guys Anyone built a deck / verandah with bamboo decking? Looking at using it for ours as the local Demak have now had it in stock for 12 months with some good feedback from other customers. I like the look, the sustainability aspect and the durability etc. Seems that it's not yet a popular product for decks here in Australia yet and there's very, very few threads on Homeone that even mention it as a decking material, and generally they're only a couple of people who were thinking about it. In fact, the only mentions I can find are by handmick! Would sure appreciate some personal opinions from you guys Thanks in advance! Re: Tell me about your bamboo decking! Please...? 2Jan 20, 2014 3:27 am Hi there. I have used the wpc decking and overall very happy with it. Purchased the hollow core material....would recommend you get the solid core. Also make sure the joists are per the manufacturer recommendations. The material can sag a little. My centers should have been no more than 400mm but my builder did them at 440. It's not that noticable but it does have a slight cupping between joists if you look from the side. Apart from that, great product. The color fades about 25% but then no more. And no oiling or painting. Excellent! Hi, as per the subject. Does anyone have any recommendations for the best value decking oil (Bunning is close to where I live) for a treated pine deck? Thanks 0 10971 Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil. It will look 10 years younger and add value to your home.
