Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Jun 25, 2012 8:35 am Ok so we are doing our side fence with slats, have a center metal fence post for extra supports and stop the sagging. We got those winged metal screws, bunnings recommended. What the best way to screw these through the wood and into the post? Pre drill as you would with wood? What setting should the drill be on? High torque, low? Re: how to screw those metal screws through wood 2 post... F 2Jun 25, 2012 11:18 am Tek screws ? Just drill them through were u want them , no pre drilling , med to high speed they'll go through the wood like butter and metal should take like 20 to 30 seconds depending how thick is it Sam There is a much stronger glue than liquid nails. It's called T Rex and will stick your timber to the concrete.
