Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 May 25, 2012 12:17 pm well i want to build a little deck at the front entrance under the portico... we have concrete pathway , and the setup to the house is only 90mm... so i wouldnt beable to use styrups or anything like that... What would be the best way to secure the frame to the concrete? Re: low line decking 2May 26, 2012 1:23 pm You could ramset/dynabolt/masonary-anchor timber 'joists' to the concrete and place decking straight on top of that. They may need to be countersunk so decking would lay on top. Alternatively, bolt metal braces (simple 'L' shaped ones) either side of an upright joist to the concrete, and attach decking to the top of that. Re: low line decking 3May 26, 2012 2:28 pm Do you want to make up the 90mm or have a small step. if you are happy to have a small step. You can secure 75x38 treated hardwood straight to the concrete using 60x6mm countersunk dyna bolts. Dont use pine, even with twist shank nails they will pull out. Make sure if you are going close to your termite protection you leave about a 20-25mm gap between the deck and the wall. You need to maintain your visual inspection. Hi, as per the subject. Does anyone have any recommendations for the best value decking oil (Bunning is close to where I live) for a treated pine deck? Thanks 0 10974 4 10824 4 6201 |
