Show me your outdoor lights please

We are looking around for a variety of lighting (and this probably belongs in the lighting thread).
The latest focus is what to put on the portico columns (one each side) to mainly act as a feature, as our portico is only 3m from the footpath and we have a street light across the road. We would like something fairly modern and are thinking of those cylindrical ones that shine up and down? What have others done? Pictures please...

Also, we have provision for lights either side of the sliding doors out the family and dining, and we would like something that will enable you to see what you are eating but doesn't have to be particularly bright as it's only about 6m to the fence line. Again we would like something modern looking and were thinking a stainless steel coach light (I'll see if I can get pics). What do others use to light up a patio/courtyard area? Pictures please...

Hi there Ray,

Choosing the correct lighting in and around the home is so important, as it sets the mood, and creates an atmosphere that is second to none.

There are so many varieties, nonetheless you need to maintain a common statement around the home.

From the pictures you have posted, it seems that your home is more modern, than heritage, therefore, its my opinion that you keep away from the coach light series. Maybe consider a Lakeside Up & Down, or Even an Alonsa Up & Down. The later, can be fitted with the new energy saver compact fluorescent globes.

Hi Ray,

We have the first lights at our house, and while the light comes from the top and bottom, its not much light that gets given, keep this in mind.

I see you have several at the front - good idea.
