Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Feb 11, 2012 12:30 pm At our new house one side fence has the runners on our side, and a pool on the other. With a very inquisitive little boy, obviously I am eager to do something about this before we move in! While there's only about 10 meters abutting the pool enclosure that I absolutely HAVE to clad, if my boy gets over the fence into the neighbour's backyard, he could easily pull a chair up to the pool gate and get into the pool enclosure that way. So realistically I need to clad or somehow fix this so he can't get over the fence at any point. It's about 30 meters, all up. So I need ideas which are not going to cost a bomb. Of course, I want it to look nice, too!! Any ideas? Need ideas: Fence cladding 2Feb 11, 2012 4:29 pm You can put another rail on the fence and then screw tin on so it would look like a double sided fence. Brush screening could also be an option. Our council here will not let you have a pool if there are rails on the other side of the fence due to kids climbing over easily. Might be worth checking with your council if it's the same there. I had a feeling that might be costly? Not sure on brush screening as so much I have seen sags after a while and looks crappy - and might also allow a foothold. There used to be a pool on our side of the fence, too, but we removed it before we built. I am pretty sure it would now be a requirement that the fence have double sided facings - at least on the section adjoining the pool enclosure. Maybe that's the solution? Put palings up on our side, too? I recently finished my house and after landscaping, have begun to plan a fence. To be honest its been a bit of an afterthought so I'm after some much needed advice.
