Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Aug 28, 2011 8:16 am Hi there, Just got a property and had it inspected. The deck is (beautifully) built on untreated pine posts. The pest inspector said there is no evidence of termite/fungal problems. So, how do I go about having the posts treated so that it will resist termite/fungal attacks? Thanks heaps. Re: Decking problem: built with untreated pine, how to recti 2Sep 02, 2011 9:30 am One option (which is not easy) is to approach it like re stumping a house. Dig out the old post, make sure you have a secure footing or make a new one then put in a new treated post. you'll have to do it one by one though un less you can take the top section of deck off in one peice, then you could do all of them at once and not have to dig as much.
