Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Apr 08, 2011 12:10 pm I'm looking at building a deck and have a couple of questions a) has anyone used the steel product "Otter ground screw" in lieu of concrete pad & stirrup? b) has any one used a hidden deck fastner for either treated pine or merbau and what is it and how is it going? Re: Help / questions about ground screws and hidden fastners 2Aug 08, 2011 7:41 am Hey Handyandy, just in the process of building mine at the moment. It's is over a slab though. So far frame is complete, and should be starting with the hidden biscuit system this week. I went with Deck Max and their pro system which you can order the Merbau pre grooved. Thinking was pay a bit more for the timber and less pain along the way. Sam There is a much stronger glue than liquid nails. It's called T Rex and will stick your timber to the concrete. Cheers Simeon 1 1152 l spoke to my plumber we decided to replace the rusted screws and keep all the screws with no rust, it will only cost a few hundred 7 2603 |
