Hi All,
I have just recently built a pergola (image attached). Basically its a ledger beam dyna-bolted to the back wall, 7 rafters butted up to the beam and sitting on top of the other beam on 2 posts.
The problem im having is that the pergola wobbles. Not to the point where its gonna collapse but enough to make me submit this post for advise.
The footings of the posts are 300x300x300 cement block that i poured a month ago and then drilled and dynabolted post stirrups using 100mm dynabolts.
I have added joist hangers and triple grips and i have also braced the posts to the beam and it still wobbles.
I'm thinking that the post brackets are not doing their job so i have also attached the image.
Im thinking of pouring concrete over the brackets hoping that it will create a more rigid base to the brackets.
Any advise would be great.
My last resort would be to lift the thing with acroprops and change the brackets to a U chaped on without a stem and put 2 new posts.
I have added an un edited version of the post bracket incase anyone wants to have a scribble with their suggestions.
Regards,
