Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Feb 05, 2011 3:37 pm We're looking to replace our existing uncovered wooden 3m x 5m deck on the 2nd floor at the back of the house. It overlooks the pool and is our outdoor dining area, including a BBQ. At this stage we're thinking of extending it to be 4m x 6m and having it partially covered by a 4m x 3.5m Vergola. I'm interested in tiling it, but would be interested to know the potential problems of doing so, and the cost difference. What are the Pros and Cons? There appears to be a general preference on the forum for tiling, but most people are talking about a ground floor alfresco style area. We have a large deck at the front of the house as well, and use Spa n Deck on it. I'm reasonably happy with the result, but I have noticed it makes a complete mess of the area underneath the deck - so this would not be suitable for a raised deck with a used area underneath it. To complicate it further, the new back deck will probably join up to the existing front deck. If we go with timber decking, and I use a different oiling product I am concerned that the two decks won't look the same?
