Browse Forums Outdoor Living Re: Unfinished swimming pool safety top cover 2Jan 29, 2011 6:44 am Hi, I think what your builder has suggested is to get a few panels of hire temp fencing and lash them together and lay them flat over the top of the pool while the building works take place. I have seen a similar alternative by where a frame made up of <>25mm steel square and mesh (the same used in concrete driveways) are welded together and placed over the pool to form the temp cover while building. Whatever solution you arrive at, the aim of the cover is to stop anyone falling in so the cover will need to be rigid and just like a pool fence the gaps need to be small enough to prevent kids getting though etc. Have you rang the pool company? I'm sure they would have come across this issue before. They may even have a cover you could hire from them. Re: Unfinished swimming pool safety top cover 5Jan 07, 2013 6:36 pm What size pool ? If its 20m that's cheap. If 6 it's expensive I prefer a solid cover to reo as it still lets lots of rubbish & building materials in I recently did one on a 6x2.5m pool. I used 6 7x3m treated pine sleepers & 5 2.4 x 1.2 sheets of plywood. 35 screws Apx cost of materials$330 labour 1hr If your using steel framework across pool be carful of shavings when drilling . Thew will rust & stain. The last home I lived in didn't have a pool and when i went to sell it the agents were not happy, even telling me to put one in to sell the place. The agents weren't happy… 2 4239 There are no other options other than installing a void protection, over the pool 3 916 |
