It worked a treat and no mess inside. kek Great job. I like how you worked around the lower floor level for the garage...I assume you'll be paving there, maybe leading onto a path or extended driveway? Looks like a professional job, and at a very nice price. I have laid deck in front of the garage. Just continued on the lengths. Will post photos of it. We've just finished our deck which was around 45m2. Cost us $4500 to DIY. How long are you leaving yours before you oil it? Are you/have you put any decking lights in? Will you leave the area open or eventually cover it/part of it? Sorry I have heaps of questions as we're still deciding with ours! Here's some pics of ours for comparison if you're interested ... viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35754&start=1020 Re: Building a deck - mini blog (pics inside) 9Dec 30, 2010 9:12 am Aaron & Erin Your deck has come up a treat It's always more rewarding (and cheaper) to DIY. Some say straight away, some say wait 6 weeks and some say wait 3-6months! Not sure what to oil it with either yet. See my other post: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=42313. I have looked at the lights and will put them in one day. We dont have any power points close enough. Also lights dont have long enough electrical cable -most Ive seen have 5 metres. May cover it one day with shade sails. Money is a bit of an issue at the moment. Deck cost more then expected. We purchased a UV block out counterlever umbrella from bunnings: http://www.coolaroo.com/products/coolar ... uctRef=129 It worked a treat on xmas day for those who were under it. So we bought an outdoor transformer, and an extra 15m of cable. Looking to use a water based oil for the deck, and apply it maybe 6 weeks after it's been laid (which will be around mid Jan for the first level of deck we did, then early Feb for the second level).
