Re: Temporary (read cheap :) Clothesline 3Oct 07, 2010 5:09 pm Well, the cheapest way to make a temporary clothesline would be to buy a roll of plastic coated wire (ie"springwire" that people sometimes use for hanging light curtains) from the hardware store or Spotlight, cut to desired length with wire cutters (or pre-measure and ask hardware store to cut for you if you dont have any) and connect from one fence post or other fixed object to another. You can buy little hook sets that thread into the end of the wire each set is a hook which can be threaded into timber and and a closed end which goes on the wire. Re: Temporary (read cheap :) Clothesline 4Oct 07, 2010 8:05 pm Thanks, ladies ... I'm not even sure how much are they in shops (or should I say Bunnings), so not sure what's reasonably cheap ... looked at ebay, but there's nothing ATM close by or short enough to fit in the car. Thought (and still thinking) about how to run some lines, but trouble is - there is nothing to attach them to !!! Fences are 1.8m high and very far apart, so a full line would just sag all the way to the ground (: ... No handy corners either, no tall strong trees !! Don't want to drill some nails into the house either ... the portable wire one is way too small ... I think I've exhausted all options Maybe I could find some long strong posts and drill holes in them and spread a few meters of rope as per H's suggestion ... oh to think that we had the option to save our gigantic and super strong old style bullet proof hoist ... I take mine outside when its a nice day. I bought it specifically for Eva's clothes, but you'd be amazed at how many of our clothes fit on it too Custom European Cabinets - Melbourne Kitchen Specialist PM for business details as website currently being updated!
