Hi everyone,
My house will be finished around July next year and even though there is still lots of time, I like to plan early (and budget) for things that will have to be done after the build. One thing that I cant decide on is the roofing for the Pergola that we will have to have done after the build.
We currently have a pergola attached to the house of the home I m living in now. Its a simple Timber pergola with corrigated profile lazerlite which suites this home but I am really not a fan of the profile of the Lazerlite sheeting and have considered flat Polycarbonate type sheeting for the new house.
There is a product called Danpalon that is a multi-cell panel sheeting system where the joins are concealed and weatherproof. I was wondering if anyone has this as a pergola roof or has used this for residential use?
On the website, it seems to be used often for commercial or industrial use, there's not much talk about residential.
I like the flat profile sheets and as the Pergola will be North-East facing, I was thinking of having clear panels to let the light in on that side of the house and being 2 storey, we may have the shadow cast on that side but I'm not sure if it will be too hot sit under.
Because the house will be rendered, I was looking at square rendered columns to match the look of the house. Don't know how they would join steel to brick columns
Has anyone got a clear roof Pergola, or a North or East facing Pergola?
We plan to use this a lot, winter and summer so I have to get this right.
