Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Sep 09, 2010 5:03 pm Hello all, I am wanting to build a deck some time soon and I was wondering if anyone has recently aquired some timber decking at a reasonable price. Currently I am looking at my options for a 40m2 deck which include: The two sizes are 90mm and 140mm. The choices include: Merbau - $26 -> $36m2 Spotted Gum - $54m2 Fijian Mahogany - $42m2 Wormy Chestnut - $45m2 Qld Harwood - $25m2 Brush Box - $43m2 Blackbutt - $31m2 I am ever so slanting towards the blackbutt of which an ebay supplier has 2200 Lm worth. I have not bought decking from them but they were the best price around for spotted gum floor boards. Urban Salvage in Newport/Spotswood also sell a wide range of decking but I am not sure how competitive their prices are either. Hi, as per the subject. Does anyone have any recommendations for the best value decking oil (Bunning is close to where I live) for a treated pine deck? Thanks 0 10940 Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15839 Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil. It will look 10 years younger and add value to your home. Visit for… 1 15744 |
