Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Jul 15, 2010 10:49 pm Hi all, We're about to move into our new home. At the moment our alfresco area is a sandpit - we asked our builder to not pave the area as the plan is to put some timber decking in. I was reading through some other threads on H1 the other day and saw some people talking about the minimum height for a timber deck being 30cm, to ensure there are no problems with dampness in the joists and bearers. With this in mind, will we need to rethink our plans? The photos below show where we want to put the decking in, with the dark shaded area in the first photo showing the approximate dimensions of the planned deck. Any advice or recommendations would be fantastic! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ New beginnings.
