Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Apr 04, 2010 11:25 am So I am looking at building a deck out the back of the house. I am considering using steel for the frame for a couple of reasons - less pest concerns and I am probably better at welding than using timber. I will probably just use RHS for the posts and frames.
Now what I want to know is what size RHS should I use? 50x50x2mm? Would that be strong enough? Also how far apart do I need posts, joists etc? Feel free to add anything else I need to know. Thanks in advance. Re: Steel framed deck - Suggestions? 4Apr 18, 2010 1:13 pm Stratco makes a turnkey solution; we have one for 2-3 years now, and it works well. Everything fits into saddles etc, so no welding, minimal screwing (we had someone install it).
