Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Jan 19, 2010 2:41 pm Hi all, we're thinking of building a deck on our alfresco which was concreted over as part of the slab. The alfresco floor is just two brick courses down from the house. I was thinking of putting the bearers directly on the concrete and then building the joist and merbau boards over it. Is it okay for the bearers to rest on the concrete without posts? It'll save us doing all the stumps etc The area we want to do is about 3m x 15m or so. I want to build a decking to the drawn shape outlined in black.
