Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Dec 12, 2009 2:23 pm I thought I'd share this for people looking for an alternative to hardwood decking. This deck was constructed out of treated pine and stained with an eco friendly stain called 'Natural Stain' in Merbau colour. Longevity from the material might be an issue, but we've been told that if it's looked after properly, we'll enjoy using it for many many years. All up the deck cost about $2300 and is about 25m2. I must say the materials were pricey for the size. I supplied a deck at 37 sq. metres (hardwood decking with treated frame) for $2650 including screws, finish and concrete justa few days ago. Re: Our treated pine deck construction - with pics 9Dec 14, 2009 3:17 pm Looks fantastic I'm also a proud deck owner which was built by my Husband That stain looks great and it's such a fun job to do! Have to agree with Duke on the pricing, our deck is about 37sqm and our cost was a tiny bit over $1000 plus the nail gun hire. Still alot cheaper than getting a "professional" in to do it though Happy at Home Re: Our treated pine deck construction - with pics 10Dec 16, 2009 11:15 am very nice loved it thats our project for next year a deck well done you must be so happy with it you can have xmas dinner on it or xmas drinks anyway finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 Re: Our treated pine deck construction - with pics 11Dec 18, 2009 8:25 pm Thanks for all the positive comments everyone. We're really happy with it. Surprised about the price though. We did heaps of research and shopped around quite a bit. We do have a fair amount of left over timber, we (or should I say HE!!) ruined some and we probably could have been more economical with the concrete. Oh well.... Re: Our treated pine deck construction - with pics 12Dec 18, 2009 8:40 pm Doesn't matter JellyLegs, at least you have a lovely deck to use over Christmas and Summer Happy at Home DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Are you going to have the frame exposed or are you cladding it with something.
