Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Dec 10, 2009 2:21 pm Hi all, We are about to commence an outdoor renovation project and I am doing a little bit of budgeting to work out whether I need to get the bank involved. I am trying to get an idea of the costs of some changes to our pool (20yrs old, slightly larger than average size). Hopefully these aren't "how long is a piece of string" types of questions: 1. How much should I budget for a complete replacement of a swimming pool filter system, including pumps, chlorinator, "barracuda" etc etc. Basically everything including installation except for the piping to and from the pool? 2. Am thinking of getting solar heating... something that has little to no ongoing running costs. Again, how much? I am obviously aware that noone here knows my individual circumstances, but just looking to get a rough idea. Would appreciate any opinions. Thanks Re: Pool Filter System Replacement + Solar Heating 2Dec 22, 2009 7:57 pm about $3000 for good quality equipment solar heating about $5000 installed Re: Pool Filter System Replacement + Solar Heating 3Dec 23, 2009 12:20 am Not sure what part of the Country you are in. We are in Melb and had our solar heating installed about 6 weeks ago. We paid $3200 for 40sqm. Our pool is 10m x 4.1m. Solar was $2400, computer was $500 and $300 for installation - double storey house. Worth every cent Happy at Home Re: Pool Filter System Replacement + Solar Heating 4Dec 23, 2009 2:02 am A new pool pump will start at around $450. We had a new one installed, which cost $660 inclusive. A new filter can run around the same price. Just be aware of the replacement cartridge cost before you decide. Sorry, can't help you with the rest. Judier Just be careful with building stability during construction, that is when the structure may be weakened, refer to your engineering drawings for stability methodology. 1 7226 Can anyone recommend a good/affordable retaining wall and fence builder that I can get a quote from located in Sydney? 8 45817 Last year I had a gas leak at my house. 3 days later, I have about 1 sqm of my exposed aggregate paving broken up. I am not sure how to go about getting it repaired… 0 10411 |
