Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Dec 02, 2009 2:40 pm hi there, as part of our building package we get included colour bond fending but not the side gates to the house. we have just received a quote for a side gate to the right and a block off to the left side and it is 900 dollars. this is from the same company that is providing the fencing that the builder will pay. This seems a bit steep in my opinion. Does anyone else have any thoughts? it is is WA. thanks for taking the time to reply.. sarah Sarah Building in baldivis Re: quotes for colour bond gate 2Dec 02, 2009 2:55 pm We have just ordered and paid for our colourbond fencing which included a single gate and double, we are in Vic so prices may vary but here is what we paid: * Double gate 3.44m long 1.8m high - $886.02 * Single gate .950m long 1.8m high - $425.15 They are not cheap, so depending on the size it could be right. Re: quotes for colour bond gate 4Dec 02, 2009 9:02 pm If you are a "Handy person" you could buy the gate and panel in kit form and DIY. My 1.8x1.2 gates cost less than half the price you have been quoted and were a doddle to install. The fencing contractor quoted over $500 to supply and install a single matching gate. We went to Stratco and they had one made to measure for us for about $280, including supplying the gate posts and hardware. Then we paid the sub-contractor who was doing the fencing $50 cash to install it for us. We did look at kits and there was a bit more of a saving there, but being time-poor, we decided to just get it done. Re: quotes for colour bond gate 8Dec 18, 2009 3:03 pm mine is colorbond...it cost 500 for one side gate, and another to block the other side. is it reasonable??
