Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Aug 20, 2009 10:22 am Hi We have just got back a quote for our landscaping which was a bit (ok a LOT) over what we had budgeted for. The guy said the main cost was our decking. We have a small area at the front, an alfresco area at the back, and we were then going to extend this around and down the side of the house. One of the suggestions for cutting costs was to leave the deck at the front and the alfresco, but instead of carrying it around the sides of the house to pave this area instead. Do pavers/decking work well together? Does anyone have any pics of a deck that steps down onto pavers? Thanks for any help My karma ran over your dogma Re: Decking/Paving 2Aug 20, 2009 11:17 pm Hi bel, sorry to hear the quote was too high... isn't it the story of all our lives with all this house building stuff!!! I don't know exactly what your plans are, but I think decking works really well with paving. My parents have a raised deck area that steps down to pavers, I don't have a picture though, but it looks fine, not odd or anything, and I think I have seen similar done especially around pools etc... maybe try looking at pool pics? Hopefully someone will come up with some pics for you. Re: Decking/Paving 5Aug 21, 2009 4:36 pm Hi, not sure if this helps. The paving is at the same level as the decking, but might give you an idea of looks. These are some photos taken at a display home. Looked really great. Does anyone have any recommendations for the best value decking oil (Bunning is close to where I live) for a treated pine deck? Thanks 0 1290 I had 28m2 of engineered pavers laid six months back and it was difficult to find someone not taking the pi$$. Internet suggested it should be $85-100/m2 to lay them.… 3 9625 As most others have posted above the install isn't compliant.
