Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Aug 01, 2009 2:21 pm Hi i am laying a new deck in merbu (90x19) and would like to not have any nails or screws showing , has anyone used the invisible side fixings and are they any good ? The deck is going around a new pool and is not covered in , can anyone help? Re: Invisible deck fixing 2Aug 01, 2009 11:51 pm Modwood is available with a secert fixing though with most timber decking you have a visible nail or screw fixing. Most decks are screwed these days as the screw is countersunk whilst a sits proud of the board. Re: Invisible deck fixing 4Aug 02, 2009 6:51 pm A lot of work biscuit joining every board on both sides every 450mm but if you have the time..... Re: Invisible deck fixing 5Aug 05, 2009 4:43 pm We used deck max (http://www.deck-max.com.au/) for our deck - and LOVE the result. Used it for the floor and the raised gardne beds, and the BBQ area and surrounds. Gave it a really clean look. The other recommended method is stainless steel screws which are countersunk and sit flush with the boards Re: Invisible deck fixing 8Sep 30, 2009 8:58 pm Here in Perth we use E Plank 86x20 x 3.6 or 4.5m. M&B sales have it. It is actually made from jarrah shorts that are returned to China, dovetailed and glued together after all imperfections have been removed. Absolutely brilliant finish and the special secret fitting is the quickest and neatest we have ever used.
